Jennifer Hudson was born in Chicago, in a middle class family. As a child, she admired Whitney Houston and Aretha Franklin, and wanted to be a singer. After competing on American Idol, she signed a record deal, and started achieving her dream. Today, she has won 2 Grammys, and is one of the most famous singers in the world.
During her life, Hudson dealt with adversity when 3 members of her family were murdered. Hudson was still just 25, and had already lost her father. Hudson took a break from music, and had to focus on herself for a year. However, she overcame this tragic event, and continued to become a great musician.
Hudson talked about this tragic experience, and the way it affected her life. She showed everybody that even if you experience a tragedy like this, you can still overcome, and have a successful and happy life.
